Housing Finance Bank achieves sustainability certification

Housing Finance Bank (HFB) has achieved certification under the Sustainability Standards and Certification Initiative (SSCI), marking a milestone in its efforts to integrate responsible practices into its operations.

The bank is embedding sustainability into its governance, financing priorities, and stakeholder engagement to build long-term resilience. Key focus areas include financial inclusion, enterprise development, affordable housing, and responsible operations.

Board Chairperson Annette W. Kihuguru stated that sustainability is central to the bank’s growth philosophy, emphasizing that the institution must consider the long-term implications of capital deployment and the value created for the wider economy and its communities.
