Housing projects in Sesto San Giovanni and Ascoli Piceno
In Sesto San Giovanni, a new large-scale student residence project is being developed on the site of the former Magneti Marelli offices. The project, managed by Castello SGR's Casati IV fund and involving Collegiate, aims to provide 857 rooms, with full operation expected by 2029. However, critics have raised concerns regarding affordability; only 86 rooms (approximately 10 percent) will be offered at a subsidized rate of 20 percent below market average. Local officials noted that even these subsidized rooms could cost between 800 and 900 euros per month.
In Ascoli Piceno, redevelopment work has concluded at the historic San Domenico complex, formerly the Magistrali schools. The renovated site is expected to open by the end of the year and will feature 37 residential units: ten rooms for university students and 27 apartments designed for intergenerational living between young people and self-sufficient elderly residents.
