Houston and Clute host upcoming cultural and community festivals

The Houston area will host several cultural and community events through early September. From August 28 to 30, the seventh annual Houston Mariachi Festival will take place at the Wortham Theater Center, featuring various ensembles, vocalists, and ballet folklórico dancers. Additionally, Mexican music star Pepe Aguilar will perform with the Houston Symphony at Jones Hall on Friday and Saturday nights.

Other local activities include the Boho Market at Montrose Collective and a free circus-themed production, ‘Cirque-tacular: The Art of Circus’, at Miller Outdoor Theatre.

In Clute, the JDS Give Back Festival is scheduled for September 11 and 12 at Clute Municipal Park. This free two-day event includes live music, carnival rides, and the ‘Sizzle in the Park’ BBQ Cook-Off. The festival, organized by J. D. Silva & Associates and the Brazoria County Hispanic Lions Club, offers free admission and rides to the community.
