Houston area shooting spree ends in suspect's death

A multi-city shooting spree across the Houston area ended with the death of the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Pedro Gonzalez. Authorities state Gonzalez allegedly shot three people in three different locations on Friday.

The incidents began around 6 a.m. in Pasadena, where Gonzalez is believed to have shot his ex-wife at a residence. Following this, a 52-year-old woman was shot in New Caney and was reported to be in stable condition. A third shooting occurred in east Houston near a Burger King, where Gonzalez allegedly shot a man who was a friend of the suspect.

Police found Gonzalez dead in Houston’s near northside neighborhood from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office noted that all three victims were connected to an ongoing dispute involving Gonzalez, though the specific nature of the dispute remains unclear. All three victims are expected to survive their injuries.
