Houston Astros part ways with GM Dana Brown

The Houston Astros have announced a major shakeup in their front office and leadership structure. The organization has mutually parted ways with General Manager Dana Brown, whose contract was set to expire at the end of the season. Following the departure, owner Jim Crane will oversee baseball operations, supported by senior adviser Jeff Bagwell and assistant general managers Charles Cook, Gavin Dickey, and Connor Huff, who will split Brown’s responsibilities.

Regarding the team's coaching staff, owner Jim Crane confirmed that manager Joe Espada will remain in his position through the end of the current season. While there has been speculation regarding Espada's long-term future, Crane stated that the organization intends to evaluate his position after the 2026 campaign.

The changes come as the Astros remain in contention for the American League West title, despite recent struggles and a record of 65-66 entering Tuesday's matchup against the New York Yankees.
