Houston Cougars defeat Southern 77-6 amid stadium power outage

The No. 22 Houston Cougars defeated Southern University 77-6 at TDECU Stadium on Saturday. The game was briefly interrupted when a power outage left the stadium without lights for the final two minutes of the first half. Following a two-minute delay, teams played the remainder of the half in daylight before the lights were restored during halftime.

Houston's offense recorded 591 total yards, including 388 rushing yards distributed among 10 different ballcarriers. Senior quarterback Conner Weigman threw for 120 yards and three touchdowns before being relieved by backup Keisean Henderson. Henderson contributed two passing touchdowns and a 54-yard rushing touchdown. The teams agreed to play an abbreviated eight-minute fourth quarter to conclude the blowout.
