Houston Dynamo Marcelo Saracchi MLS Boca Juniors football transfer

The Houston Dynamo have acquired veteran defender Marcelo Saracchi from Argentina’s Boca Juniors. The 28-year-old Uruguayan international has signed a deal through the 2028-29 MLS season, with club options extending through the 2030-31 season.

Saracchi brings extensive international experience to the club, having played in Spain’s La Liga, Germany’s Bundesliga, the Turkish Super Lig, the Scottish Premiership, and the Argentine Primera Division. His career includes appearances in the Copa Libertadores, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Europa League. Most recently, he completed a loan spell with Scotland’s Celtic FC.

Dynamo president of soccer Pat Onstad praised Saracchi as a balanced left back with a competitive mentality that fits the club’s culture, noting his experience in top-flight leagues across Europe and South America.
