Houston Dynamo defeat LA Galaxy in Hirving Lozano debut

Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano made his debut for LA Galaxy in a 1-0 defeat against Houston Dynamo at Shell Energy Stadium. Lozano, who joined the club on loan from San Diego FC just one week prior, entered the match in the 65th minute as a substitute for Robert Taylor.

The match was decided early in the first half when Guilherme converted a penalty in the 21st minute to give Houston the lead. LA Galaxy's efforts to equalize were further hampered when Emiro Garcés received a red card in the 58th minute, leaving the team with ten players. Lozano received a yellow card during his appearance but was unable to shift the momentum.

The game also featured a reunion between Lozano and Héctor Herrera, both former Pachuca academy players and Mexican national team teammates. Herrera started for the Dynamo before being substituted in the second half.
