Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks to start NBA preseason early for Macau games

The Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks will begin their NBA preseason preparations earlier than the rest of the league due to scheduled preseason games in Macau. While the other 28 NBA franchises will start their training one week later, the Rockets and Mavericks must begin medical reviews, training sessions, and travel logistics ahead of schedule to accommodate the international tour.

Regarding roster changes, the Mavericks have addressed shooting weaknesses following the departure of Klay Thompson and the trade of A.J. Johnson. The team has retained Max Christie and added Zaccharie Risacher and Tarik Biberovic to bolster their three-point shooting capabilities. Despite these additions, questions remain regarding the overall talent depth in the Mavericks' backcourt heading into the new season.
