Houston sports news: High school honors and HBCU tour announcement

In separate sports news, Shannon Sharpe, Chad Johnson, and Joe Johnson announced that Prairie View A&M University will serve as the first stop for the Nightcap HBCU Tour. The live event is scheduled for September 4 at the William ‘Billy’ J. Nicks Building. This tour coincides with the 41st Labor Day Classic, where Prairie View A&M is set to host Texas Southern on September 6, a matchup scheduled to air nationally on ESPN2.
