Houston Texans face injury setbacks with David Montgomery and Jalen Pitre

The Houston Texans are dealing with injuries to key starters following their Week 5 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Running back David Montgomery left the game in the second quarter due to a groin injury. Head coach DeMeco Ryans described Montgomery’s status as week-to-week, noting that the team is still evaluating the severity of the issue.

In addition to Montgomery, safety Jalen Pitre also exited the contest with a shoulder injury. Ryans indicated that Pitre is also considered week-to-week as the medical staff assesses the damage.

The injuries come amid a period of fluctuating performance for Montgomery, who has struggled with efficiency this season. As the team prepares for their upcoming Week 6 matchup against Jacksonville in London, backup running back Woody Marks may see an increased role in the offense.
