Houston Texans NFL wide receiver Zay Jones Sterling Shepard

The Houston Texans have signed veteran wide receivers Zay Jones and Sterling Shepard following a season-ending ACL injury to Jayden Higgins. Higgins suffered the injury during a joint practice session with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Jones, 31, previously played for the Arizona Cardinals and has spent time with the Buffalo Bills, Las Vegas Raiders, and Jacksonville Jaguars. Shepard, 33, joins the team after stints with the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both players reportedly impressed during recent workouts.

In conjunction with these signings, the Texans placed linebacker K. C. Ossai on the injured reserve list. The team's front office had previously explored various trade options, including targets from the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens, to address the depth issues in the receiving corps.
