Houston Texans waive rookie punter Jack Stonehouse

The Houston Texans have waived undrafted rookie punter Jack Stonehouse during training camp. The move leaves Kai Kroeger as the sole punter currently on the roster.

Stonehouse, a former Syracuse punter, had been competing with Kroeger for the starting role following the offseason departure of Tommy Townsend. Reports indicate that neither specialist established enough confidence during training camp reps to secure the position, leading the team to move on from Stonehouse in favor of Kroeger's experience.

In a corresponding roster move, the Texans signed running back Owen Wright.
