Houston Texans WR Jayden Higgins suffers season-ending ACL tear
Houston Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins is expected to miss the entire 2026 season after suffering a torn ACL during a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders. Higgins, a second-round pick from the 2025 NFL Draft, was projected to be the team’s primary WR2 behind Nico Collins.
The injury creates significant depth concerns for the Texans' passing attack, especially as the team also manages the recovery of Tank Dell and minor injuries to Jaylin Noel. To address the void, NFL insiders have suggested the Texans could pursue a trade for wide receivers such as New England Patriots' Kayshon Boutte or potentially Brandon Aiyuk.
In addition to the roster impact, the team is currently navigating contract discussions with quarterback C. J. Stroud regarding a long-term extension. The Texans are scheduled to face the Raiders in their second preseason game following the injury news.
