Houston women’s soccer defeats UCF 1-0

The University of Houston women’s soccer team defeated UCF 1-0 on Sunday at the UCF Soccer Complex, snapping the Knights’ five-match Big 12 winning streak and their undefeated home record.

Bailey Cate scored the game’s only goal in the 12th minute following an assist from Jada Arthurs. The victory marks Houston’s tenth win of the season, their first double-digit win season since 2021, and their sixth conference win since 2001.

With the win, Houston improves to 10-3-4 overall and 6-2-1 in the Big 12, while UCF moves to 10-4-1 overall and 5-3-1 in conference play. Houston goalkeeper Sierra McCluer earned the shutout with two saves, while UCF’s Kaïna Cesar recorded four saves in the loss.
