Houthi missile attacks hit Saudi Aramco facilities in Jizan and Yanbu
Yemen's Iran‑backed Houthi rebels said they launched missiles, cruise missiles and drones at Saudi Aramco installations in the industrial city of Jizan and the Yanbu refinery complex. The attacks caused explosions, power outages in Jizan and prompted Saudi civil‑defence alerts in Yanbu. Saudi‑led coalition forces responded with airstrikes on Houthi positions in the Marib and Al‑Jawf provinces and targeted Houthi air‑defence sites. Yemen’s armed forces also issued a statement claiming they carried out two operations that struck the same Aramco sites with ballistic missiles and drones. Greek Patriot batteries, deployed in Saudi Arabia as part of an international air‑defence mission, intercepted two ballistic missiles and later a UAV aimed at the Yanbu facilities. The broader confrontation includes Saudi maritime blockades, Iranian IRGC warnings to ships in the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. statements about possible further action, but no civilian casualties were reported.
