Houthi leader Abdulsalam Jahaf alleges internal death threats
Houthi leader Abdulsalam Jahaf has publicly disclosed receiving direct threats of physical liquidation and being the target of coordinated smear campaigns by influential members within the Houthi movement. In a video shared on X, Jahaf called on Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi to form an urgent investigative committee to address the defamation targeting him and his family, which he claims has been ongoing since 2016.
Jahaf alleged that the threats were issued in the names of Ali Hussein al-Houthi, head of the police intelligence apparatus, and Abdulhakim al-Khiwani, head of the security and intelligence service. He expressed deep resentment, stating he would not remain silent regarding the defamation of his family even if it cost him his life.
Furthermore, Jahaf accused Houthi leadership of practicing regionalism, claiming that certain officials incited hospitals to refuse medical assistance for his son due to his origins in the Raymah governorate, which he believes contributed to his son's death.
