Houthi missile strike in Sanaa injures civilians after failed launch

A Houthi-launched missile failed during launch and struck a residential area in the Shu'ub district of northern Sanaa on Sunday. Local reports and eyewitnesses indicate the missile was launched from the Asr area before falling on a home in the Al-Jama'i family residence.

The incident resulted in injuries to approximately six civilians, including women and children. Following the strike, Houthi security forces reportedly established a perimeter around the site and confiscated surveillance camera footage from nearby shops and homes to prevent documentation of the event.

While local residents and journalists claim the incident was caused by a failed launch, some Houthi-aligned narratives have suggested the damage was the result of an aerial strike by Saudi forces. Local witnesses, however, reported hearing the launch sound and witnessing the missile's trajectory.
