Houthi officials state they are not at war with Italy

Houthi official Nasr al-Din Amer stated that the group is not at war with Italy and does not wish for the country to be involved in hostile acts against Yemen. Amer clarified that the group's current conflict is with Saudi Arabia.

This statement follows an attack on the Ta’if air base in Saudi Arabia on September 17, which resulted in damage to an Italian Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jet. Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto confirmed that no Italian military personnel were involved in the incident and that the aircraft was located in a decentralized area of the base.

Crosetto has requested further assessments from top military leadership regarding the security of personnel and potential operational options, noting that security measures had been in place to protect military staff.
