Houthi forces strike Saudi Aramco refinery in Jizan
Houthi forces have launched a second drone attack on a Saudi Aramco refinery in Jizan within a week. The strike, which targeted a crude oil storage tank, reportedly caused negligible damage. The Houthi group stated the operation was a response to Saudi violations of Yemeni sovereignty in the Saada and Hajjah regions.
Simultaneously, fighting between Houthi rebels and Yemeni government forces has intensified, with clashes reported in Taiz and Al-Mokha. Houthi forces claimed to have used ballistic missiles to target Saudi military gatherings and naval vessels in the Al-Mokha area, resulting in reported casualties.
In response to regional drone and missile threats, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the formation of Task Force Falcon Strike. This multinational task force will utilize unmanned suicide drone systems to provide a multi-domain deterrent in the Middle East. Additionally, the U.S. Navy is deploying the USS George Washington to the region as tensions escalate.
