Armenia and Iran discuss TRIPP project and strategic ties

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan conducted a series of high-level meetings in Tehran to strengthen strategic ties with Iran. During discussions with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, officials focused on regional stability, energy cooperation, and the unblocking of critical infrastructure.

A central topic of the talks was the TRIPP (Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity) project. This initiative involves creating a strategic transit corridor through Armenia’s Syunik region. The project aims to facilitate regional connectivity while remaining under Armenian jurisdiction.

Additional discussions covered the construction of a second bridge on the Armenia-Iran border, the completion of a third electricity transmission line, and enhancing transport and logistical capacities. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral relations and pursuing regional de-isolation through increased transit and trade cooperation.
