Howard University defeats Alabama A&M in MEAC/SWAC Challenge

Howard University secured its first victory in the history of the MEAC/SWAC Challenge, defeating Alabama A&M 31-24 at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta. The win marked a significant milestone for head coach Ted White, who returned to the event to lead his alma mater.

Quarterback Ja’Shawn Scroggins led the Bison offense, completing 19 of 36 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns. The decisive moment occurred in the fourth quarter when Scroggins converted a fourth-and-2 scramble before finding Se’Quan Osborne for a 51-yard touchdown to reclaim the lead. Howard held on to win after a late forced fumble sealed the game.

The victory contributes to the MEAC's overall success in the challenge, with the conference posting a 5-1 record during the opening weekend.
