Howden appoints Enrico Nanni as CEO for Europe

Global insurance broker Howden has appointed Enrico Nanni as CEO for Europe, effective January 1, 2027. Nanni, who currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer, will retain his existing role while reporting to Luigi Sturani, the CEO of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Under this new structure, Sturani will continue to oversee the EMEA region, with an increasing focus on growth opportunities in Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, and Central Asia. Nanni is expected to work with regional CEOs to drive organic growth and enhance collaboration across Europe.

Nanni joined Howden in 2021 and has been a key figure in the firm’s recent expansion. Over the last five years, Howden has grown its European presence from 11 to 30 countries and increased its regional workforce from 1,000 to approximately 6,000 employees. Nanni brings nearly 30 years of industry experience, including previous leadership roles at Aon and Willis Towers Watson.
