Howdon vehicle fire prompts police cordon on Oban Avenue

A vehicle fire broke out on Oban Avenue in the Howdon area of North Tyneside shortly after 23:30 on 5 August. The blaze destroyed a caravan and a vehicle, prompting Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service to dispatch three fire appliances from Byker and Tynemouth stations, which extinguished the fire by 00:02. Northumbria Police established a cordon around the property and are conducting enquiries following a report of a “disturbance”.
