HOY TV and TVB compete in prime-time sitcom battle

A competitive battle for prime-time viewership has emerged between TVB and HOY TV, as both stations launch new sitcoms scheduled for the 8:00 PM slot on October 26.

TVB is reinforcing its long-running series, ‘Come Home Love: Three Generations of Sweetness’, by bringing back popular veteran actors Fan Yi-man and Au Sui-wai. Fan will portray a flamboyant, wealthy character named Kung Hei, while Au will play a versatile bodyguard named Chu Kee, who frequently changes disguises to gather intelligence.

Contending for the same time slot is HOY TV’s new production, ‘Your Security, Li Bo-on’, directed by Hong Kong Film Award winner Ho Chak-tin. The series follows the comedic antics within the security office of a luxury residential complex. The cast includes Lee Sheung-ching, Lo Sung-yan, and Mak Pui-tung. The production aims for a cinematic quality and features a variety of comedic elements and guest appearances, including former adult film actress Mao Hamasaki.
