HoYoverse launches Genshin Impact Version 7.0 with new Snezhnaya region

HoYoverse announced that Genshin Impact Version 7.0, titled "Everwinter Without Mercy," will launch on 12 August. The update introduces Snezhnaya, the seventh and final nation of Teyvat, a frozen region inspired by Russia and connected by an extensive train network. Players will explore a new Archon Quest that investigates a catastrophic blizzard and an energy crisis, receiving the Eye of Graeae goggles that can summon trains, fabricate ice constructs, and unlock a third‑person shooter mode.

Version 7.0 adds a new elemental reaction, Stellar Swirl, triggered by combining Anemo and Cryo, and introduces two new characters: Odette, a five‑star Cryo sword‑wielding ballerina operative, and Alyosha, a four‑star Electro polearm hunter accompanied by his dog Tugarin. Additional content includes train‑racing events, target‑shooting challenges, and new domains for players to tackle.
