HP and ASUS offer MacBook Neo alternatives for students
Several Windows-based laptops are emerging as alternatives to Apple’s MacBook Neo, particularly for students and budget-conscious users who may require specific software or hardware configurations.
HP’s OmniBook 3 is positioned as a strong competitor, priced at approximately $599. It features a 14-inch OLED display and a Snapdragon X processor, which reportedly outperforms the MacBook Neo’s A18 Pro in multi-core workloads. The OmniBook 3 also offers a larger 60Wh battery with significantly higher claimed usage hours compared to the MacBook Neo’s 36.5Wh battery.
Other options include the ASUS Vivobook 14 X1404, which offers a more affordable entry point starting from $429. While the MacBook Neo provides high resolution and strong single-core performance, alternatives like the OmniBook and Vivobook series provide different trade-offs in terms of display technology, port availability, and price.
