PRINTING United Expo 2026 highlights AI and inkjet innovations
The PRINTING United Expo 2026 in Las Vegas has showcased significant technological advancements in the printing industry, with a heavy emphasis on artificial intelligence and automation.
HP introduced an integrated AI production solution featuring the HP Latex R530 AI Printer and HP PrintOS Production Hub. These tools utilize cloud and edge intelligence to automate tasks such as order intake—reducing creation time by up to 90%—and automatic print mode selection. Additionally, HP reported that its Indigo 6K+ Digital Press has surpassed 200 units sold within a year.
Kyocera Document Solutions America unveiled new inkjet innovations, including the TASKalfa Pro 15000b, a monochrome production inkjet device, and the TASKalfa Pro Tandem. Xerox Holdings Corporation also expanded its production print portfolio with new inkjet platforms, including the Proficio Jet CS1100 cut-sheet press and the Proficio Jet CF1200 continuous-feed press.
Industry trends highlighted at the expo include the essential role of automation to address labor challenges and the increasing importance of ease of use in complex machinery. The PRINTING United Alliance also announced its 2026–2027 Board of Directors, led by incoming chair Brian Hite.
