HP OmniBook 3 16 Sets New 34‑Hour Laptop Battery Life Record

CNET’s latest battery endurance testing ranked the HP OmniBook 3 16 at the top, recording more than 34 hours of continuous use on a single charge. The result surpasses the previous HP record held by the OmniBook X14 (25 hours) and the OmniBook 5 14 (28 hours). The ranking also lists nine other models that exceed 20 hours, including Lenovo’s Yoga 9i, MSI’s Prestige 14 Flip AI Plus, Apple’s MacBook Pro 16‑inch, and several devices based on Qualcomm Snapdragon X and Apple M‑series chips. The testing highlights a broader trend toward ARM‑based architectures and increasingly efficient processor designs, which have driven average laptop battery life up to about 17.5 hours this year, roughly double the levels seen in the early 2020s. These advances are credited to smaller‑node silicon, hybrid high‑performance‑low‑power cores, and AI‑focused accelerators that reduce overall power draw.
