HP study finds $58.4 bn loss from outdated print‑scan systems, drives cloud document workflow shift

A recent HP study estimates that obsolete printing and scanning setups cost companies in four surveyed markets about $58.4 billion in annual productivity each, due to analog friction in document processes. The study identifies driver issues, repeated reformatting, manual scanning, media breaks and lack of workflow integration as the main time‑drainers, rather than the act of printing itself.

Companies are urged to move beyond traditional multifunction printers toward cloud‑based document‑workflow platforms.
