Hradec Králové expands local energy sharing initiative

The city of Hradec Králové is expanding its electricity sharing project, which has been operating under an active customer model since March. The initiative has entered a new phase with the involvement of the Hradec Králové Energy Community, which will begin utilizing energy from three photovoltaic power plants located at local schools.

Currently, the sharing system includes 17 external producers and five municipal organizations, such as the Hradec Králové Philharmonic and the Drak Theatre. Since March, the system has distributed 112 MWh of electricity, an amount comparable to the annual consumption of 30 to 35 average households. The project aims to optimize local energy use and reduce the city's reliance on external suppliers by directing surplus electricity from municipal buildings to where it is most needed.
