Hradec Králové faces legal threat over prehistoric site development

A legal dispute has emerged in Hradec Králové between the city and developers Endeta and J&T Real Estate regarding the construction of the Nová Zelená shopping center. The developers have issued a pre-litigation notice demanding approximately 322 million CZK in damages by September 30, alleging that the city is intentionally complicating the project through strict conditions.

A central point of contention is the planned road required for the development, which is slated to pass through the Kuklenské rondely, a site containing prehistoric monumental structures. The discovery of these archaeological remains has led to local opposition and a petition for their protection, creating a conflict between urban infrastructure needs and the preservation of historical heritage.
