Hradec Králové hosts major IRONMAN triathlon weekend

Hradec Králové hosted a major IRONMAN triathlon weekend, featuring the IRONMAN 70.3 Hradec Králové, the IRONMAN 5150, City Lights Run, and IRONKIDS. The event drew over 3,500 athletes, including 1,750 participants in the main 70.3 race representing more than 40 countries. The competition included professional athletes from the IRONMAN Pro Series and Czech Olympian Petra Kuříková.

Emergency services treated seven participants for minor issues, primarily bicycle falls and allergic reactions to insect stings, but no serious injuries were reported. While the event proceeded smoothly regarding public order and traffic, police recorded five instances of unauthorized drone use within no-fly zones. These incidents will be referred to the Civil Aviation Authority for further action.
