Hranice: Wanted driver ends police chase in river

A 37-year-old driver in Hranice, Czech Republic, led police on a chase after failing to stop for a patrol in a vehicle that was the subject of a nationwide search. Instead of complying with police orders, the driver accelerated, drove through a field, and ultimately ended up in the Velička river.

Following the arrest, authorities discovered the man is currently under a driving ban until July 2029. While he provided a negative breathalyzer test for alcohol, he refused to undergo testing for other substances and declined a medical examination. He faces potential imprisonment of up to two years for obstructing official decisions.
