Hérault region implements new sustainable mobility initiatives

In the Hérault region of France, new initiatives are being implemented to promote sustainable and social mobility. The association Passerelles Synergies, based in Saint-Jean-de-Védas, has joined the 'donnezvotrevoiture.org' network. This partnership aims to facilitate vehicle donations from individuals to local solidarity garages, helping to provide affordable transport for people facing employment and social integration challenges.

Simultaneously, the Communauté de Communes Sud-Hérault, in partnership with the Hérault Departmental Council, is promoting carpooling and organized hitchhiking through the 'Rézo Pouce' system. Integrated with the Mobicoop platform, the project includes forty-six designated hitchhiking stops across rural areas to ensure safety and visibility. The initiative is co-financed by the LEADER program and ADEME to encourage more ecological and economical daily commutes.
