Hrithik Roshan discusses the importance of makeup in character development

Actor Hrithik Roshan has discussed the vital role makeup plays in the process of character development for film. During a media interaction, he distinguished between two types of makeup: one that simply enhances an actor's appearance for the screen, which he noted has limited potential for performance, and another that creates a look and personality significantly detached from the actor's own identity.

Roshan explained that establishing the correct hair, face, and makeup is a foundational step that allows him to sink into a character before the acting even begins. He cited his role in the 2003 film ‘Koi... Mil Gaya’ as an example of a performance that required significant makeup effort to achieve the necessary transformation.
