Hürth: Scooter rider dies in collision with police vehicle

A 24-year-old scooter rider died following a collision with a police vehicle in Hürth on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The accident occurred around 2:00 PM at the intersection of Frechener Straße and Efferener Straße.

According to police reports, the vehicle was on a training mission and was traveling with its blue lights and siren activated. The scooter rider entered the intersection from the left at the time of the crash. Despite immediate resuscitation efforts by emergency responders, the young man died at the scene.
