Hrvatska pošta to issue stamp marking 150 years of water management
Hrvatska pošta (HP) will release a new commemorative postage stamp on September 7 to mark 150 years of organized water management in Croatia. The issue commemorates the founding of the Society for the Regulation of the Vuka River on September 7, 1876, which was led by Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer.
The stamp honors the long tradition of water management and its role in the country's development and identity. HP noted that while management systems have evolved through generations of experts, modern challenges such as climate change and growing economic needs require ongoing infrastructure projects to ensure safety and quality of life.
Designed by Dean Roksandić, the stamp features a nominal value marked 'A' and was printed using multi-color offset technique. A total of 25,000 copies were produced in sheets of 20, accompanied by a first-day cover (FDC).
