Hrvoje Smolcic joins Turkish Süper Lig newcomer Arca Çorum FK

Croatian centre‑back Hrvoje Smolčić, 25, has signed a two‑year contract – with an option for a third season – with Arca Çorum FK, a club making its debut in Turkey’s Süper Lig. The move follows his departure from Eintracht Frankfurt, where he was unable to secure a regular first‑team place after 32 appearances across all competitions.

The transfer was confirmed by reporter Fabrizio Romano. Smolčić had spent the previous season on loan at Kocaelispor, also in Turkey, after loan spells in Austria. Financial terms and restrictions on the number of foreign players at Frankfurt prompted the switch, and Arca Çorum, founded in 1997 in the city of Çorum, view him as a key defensive addition for their inaugural top‑flight campaign.
