European and Greek markets see updated forecasts from major financial institutions
Financial institutions and market analysts are providing updated outlooks for European and Greek markets. HSBC has raised its STOXX 600 target to 680 points for 2026 and 760 points for 2027, expressing optimism for the European economy while maintaining a selective approach, upgrading Italy to ‘overweight’ and downgrading France to ‘underweight’.
In Greece, the Athens Stock Exchange has seen volatility. While the general index faced pressure from international bond markets and oil prices, banking stocks provided a recovery boost. Goldman Sachs has raised price targets for HELLENiQ Energy and Motor Oil, citing strong performance expectations for Greek refineries.
Additionally, Axia-Alpha Finance has raised its target price for DEI to 29.10 euros, highlighting the company’s expansion into data centers via a partnership with Amazon Web Services and its ambitious 2026–2030 business plan. Meanwhile, Euronext CEO Stéphane Boujnah noted increased interest in the Greek market, particularly from shipping and defense technology companies. In the transport sector, STASY reported an increase in passenger transport volume, ticket validations, and revenue for the first eight months of 2026 compared to the previous year.
