Hüseyin Demirkol writes poem about Tekman district

Hüseyin Demirkol, the District Governor of Tekman in Erzurum, has shared a poem titled “Hey Gidi Tekman” on social media to describe the character and life of the district.

The poem reflects on the region's harsh continental climate, where winter temperatures can drop to 40 degrees below zero, and the resilience of its people. Demirkol's verses touch upon the seasonal cycles, the local economy centered on livestock farming, and the rugged geography of the area, which sits at an altitude of 1,800 to 2,000 meters.

Demirkol has served as the Tekman District Governor since May 27, 2025. His work aims to highlight the natural conditions and the social fabric of the community through a poetic lens.
