Hsieh Chang-ying nominated for Golden Bell Best Actor

Actor Hsieh Chang-ying has been nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series at the 61st Golden Bell Awards for his performance in ‘Zero Day Attack – Snake Boy’. This marks a significant milestone in his ten-year career, having spent much of that time working as an extra and supporting actor.

Hsieh revealed that he was working at his family's restaurant washing dishes when he received the news of his nomination. He noted that the achievement serves as a personal vindication for his long journey in the industry, which included a previous Golden Horse Award nomination for Best New Performer.

In discussions regarding his role in ‘Zero Day Attack’, Hsieh touched upon the physical and emotional challenges of the production, including the difficulty of filming intense crying scenes and the technical requirements of performing nude scenes. He also addressed the political nature of the series, stating that he focuses on the quality of his work regardless of potential impacts on his career in mainland China.
