Hsieh Su-wei and Jelena Ostapenko advance to US Open round of 32

Hsieh Su-wei and Jelena Ostapenko, the fourth seeds in the US Open women's doubles, advanced to the round of 32 after defeating the Croatian duo of Darija Jurak Schreiber and Antonia Ruzic in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

In the first set, the pair overcame an early deficit to secure a 6-4 win, notably saving three break points in the tenth game. They maintained momentum in the second set, winning 6-3 despite several service breaks by their opponents. This marks the first time the Hsieh-Ostapenko partnership has competed together at the US Open.

Additionally, Taiwanese player Wu Fang-hsuan and Japanese player Kato Miwa advanced to the round of 32 after a three-set comeback victory against the 12th seeds, Tereza Mihalikova and Olivia Nicholls.
