Hsieh Su-wei and Ostapenko reach Toronto WTA 1000 quarterfinals

Hsieh Su-wei and Jelena Ostapenko have advanced to the women's doubles quarterfinals at the WTA 1000 Canadian Open in Toronto. The 5th-seeded duo defeated Ulrikke Eikeri and Quinn Gleason with a score of 6-4, 7-6(1).

Despite facing an early 1-3 deficit in the first set, Hsieh and Ostapenko managed to break back and secure the set. The second set was highly competitive, featuring multiple breaks of serve, eventually leading to a dominant 7-1 victory for the Hsieh/Ostapenko pairing in the tiebreak.

Other Taiwanese players competing in the tournament were eliminated in the round of 16. Chan Hao-ching and partner Maya Joint lost to Storm Hunter and Desirae Krawczyk, while Fang-Hsuan Wu and partner Jiang Xinyu fell to Elise Mertens and Diana Shnaider.
