Hsinchu City launches international kite festival and updates baseball stadium progress

Hsinchu City has launched the 2026 International Kite Festival at the Hsinchu Fishing Port. Under the theme ‘Taiwan Impression,’ the event features kites designed to represent local culture, such as pearl milk tea, blue-and-white slippers, and traditional market bags, alongside elements representing the city’s semiconductor industry.

The festival features international participation from six countries, including Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Indonesia, and Thailand. In addition to large-scale soft kites and stunt kites, the event includes giant installations and night displays to promote local tourism and urban branding.

Separately, Hsinchu Mayor Kao Hung-an announced that improvements to the Hsinchu City Baseball Stadium are complete and currently undergoing inspection. Following successful verification of safety standards, including drainage and field leveling, the city aims to schedule baseball matches at the stadium before the end of the year.
