Hsinchu City leads Taiwan in disposable income rankings

Recent data from the Ministry of the Interior's family expenditure survey shows that average family disposable income in Taiwan reached a record high of NT$1.21 million. This represents a 3.9% increase compared to the previous year.

In terms of regional rankings, Hsinchu City maintains its position as the leader with the highest average disposable income at approximately NT$1.60 million. Hsinchu County has risen to second place with NT$1.56 million, surpassing Taipei City, which now ranks third with NT$1.55 million.

The high income levels in the Hsinchu region are attributed to the concentration of the technology industry and the Science and Technology Park, which provide significant industrial resources and job opportunities.

Regarding age demographics, the average annual income for individuals under 30 has risen to NT$587,000. While major cities like Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, and Taichung remain above the national average, cities such as Kaohsiung and Tainan reported averages slightly below the national mean.
