Hsinchu City to host tourism development forum on October 19

The 2026 HCCGxTTI Hsinchu City Tourism Development Forum is scheduled to take place on October 19 at the Florali Hotel. Co-hosted by the Hsinchu City Government and the Taiwan Tourism Training Institute, the event aims to explore the city's transition from a technology-centric hub to a diverse tourism destination.

Under the theme ‘Wind Rises in Hsinchu, Connecting to the World,’ the forum will bring together representatives from industry, government, and academia. Key discussion topics include smart tourism, city branding, sustainable development, and international market expansion. The event will also address future trends in AI and its application to the tourism sector.

City officials aim to leverage Hsinchu's unique identity by integrating its technological DNA with its cultural, ecological, and culinary resources. This includes promoting historical districts, Qingcao Lake, the Xiangshan wetlands, and the 17km coastline. Following Hsinchu's inclusion in the 2025 Michelin Guide Taiwan, the city seeks to move beyond its reputation as a business center to become a multifaceted travel destination.
