Hsinchu mayoral polls show Kao Hung-an leading race

Recent polling for the Hsinchu mayoral election shows incumbent Mayor Kao Hung-an leading the race with 49.5% support. In a hypothetical head-to-head matchup involving Kao, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate Chuang Ching-cheng, and Ho Chih-yung, Kao holds a significant lead over Chuang, who has 25.7% support, and Ho, who has 6.1%.

The data indicates broad support for Kao's reelection, with 65.8% of Hsinchu citizens expressing approval for her candidacy. This support spans various political affiliations, including 68.4% of Kuomintang (KMT) supporters and 73.6% of People First Party supporters.

In a rare collaborative move, DPP candidate Chuang Ching-cheng and Ho Chih-yung held a joint press conference to invite Kao to participate in an upcoming youth forum. While both Chuang and Ho have confirmed their attendance, they criticized Kao for claiming she had not received the formal invitations sent by students. Ho Chih-yung urged Kao to apologize to the student organizers and engage directly with the youth to discuss her administration's performance and future urban planning.
