Hsu Hsin-ying proposes NT$20,000 cash handout and Zhudong city upgrade

Kuomintang (KMT) Hsinchu County magistrate candidate Hsu Hsin-ying attended the ‘Zhudong 2026 Women’s Power Solidarity Support Group’ meeting on the 30th. During the event, Hsu proposed a policy to distribute NT$20,000 in cash to citizens, arguing that excess tax revenues should be returned to the people. She noted that national tax revenue surpluses are expected to exceed NT$1 trillion by the end of the year.

Hsu also outlined her development plans for Zhudong, including a proposal to upgrade Zhudong Township to Zhudong City. To reduce the development gap between Zhudong and Zhubei, she pledged to accelerate projects such as the third phase of the Hsinchu Science Park and the construction of the Erzhong interchange on National Highway 3.

Regarding women's welfare, Hsu introduced several initiatives, including ‘one-stop’ health check-ups covering bone density and breast ultrasounds, expanded dental subsidies, startup funds for women re-entering the workforce, and increased emergency living allowances for domestic violence victims. Current Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke attended the event and publicly endorsed Hsu as his successor.
