Hsu Hsin-ying unveils childcare and maternity policies for Hsinchu
Kuomintang Hsinchu County Magistrate candidate Hsu Hsin-ying has unveiled multiple waves of her ‘2030 Hsinchu Female Power’ platform, focusing on childcare support and maternity benefits to assist young families.
Her third wave of policies targets the specific needs of working parents in Hsinchu’s tech and manufacturing sectors. Key proposals include expanding nighttime and weekend temporary childcare services, increasing capacity for two-year-old specialized classes, and launching a ‘Hsinchu County Childcare Resource App.’ This digital platform aims to integrate childcare matching, health records, and early intervention resources. Additionally, she plans to improve the digital matching system for licensed home caregivers to make finding help more efficient for parents.
In her second wave of proposals, Hsu introduced the ‘Hsinchu Good Pregnancy 100,000 Gift Bag,’ a comprehensive support system covering pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and the first year of a child’s life. The plan includes increasing subsidies for pre-pregnancy health checkups to 3,000 TWD and providing six free psychological counseling sessions per birth to help parents manage postpartum depression and parenting anxiety.
